MUS-120 Music Theory I

Investigates the basic elements of music, including pitch, rhythm, texture and dynamics. Examines key and scale construction, melodic formation and harmonic progression of diatonic triads and seventh chords and the construction and use of secondary functions. Also includes examination of the formal elements of motive and phrase, and the simple forms of binary and ternary.
