NUR-722 Nursing Administration: Seminar and Role Practicum
This course provides the student with the opportunity to experience the role of nurse administrator/executive. An individualized nursing administration Practicum in a specific area of clinical emphasis is chosen by the student and monitored by the mentor and onground preceptor. Competencies that govern the role of the nurse administrator/executive are explored in depth. Students focus on the context for enacting the role of nurse administrator/ executive in a healthcare delivery system. Students engage in a reflective discussion of nursing administration issues and experiences in the online seminar. This course requires completion of 120 hours of Practicum.
Prerequisites: All other MSN degree and Nursing Administration Certificate requirements except NUR-732-NG Nursing Administration: Seminar and Process Practicum*, submission of all documents and requirements outlined in the Practicum Packet, including a criminal background check.
*Students may register for one elective concurrent with this course.
Advisory: Students who do not have updated e-portfolios will not be able to register for this course. Students should have access to a webcam.
